A very interesting and well-written article by Elise Foley is featured on Huffington Post discussing the stresses families undergo when one parent is separated from the family because of deportation. "Children Of Immigrants Face Hardship To Keep Families Together," discusses an issue that comes up time and time again when people inquire about having their minor children be a basis for their immigration to the U.S. As the article makes note, based on a "1996 law, children who are U.S. citizens cannot petition for their parents to stay in the United States based on the extreme hardship they would endure by being apart from their parents or native country."
